About Abbie

Abbie is an emerging artist. She is a patient, full of energy contemporary dancer, who excels at creating quirky and detailed movement. Her own practice is driven by the enjoyment of movement. Abbie works with improvisation, Laban movement principles and primarily strives for her practice to be inclusive.

Abbie has been dancing with Stopgap Dance Company since 2019. Beginning as an apprentice dancer through Northern School of Contemporary Dance postgraduate apprenticeship scheme. During her time with the company she worked with choreographers such as Chris Pavia, Maria Koliopoulou, Lucy Bennett and Siobhan Hayes.

Abbie relishes in her own projects being research-based, her recent projects have included exploring the relationship between the audience and humour in contemporary dance and investigating how Laban's theories can be incorporated into inclusive practice. Find out more here.​
